The open plan living and dining area at Gledwood Hills

We are continually inspired by the creativity and craftsmanship of our global design community. The Gledswood Hills residence in Sydney—crafted by Interior Designer Yan and the BoConcept Moore Park team—offers a compelling example of refined, contemporary Australian living. Drawing inspiration from their approach, we explore the elements that shape this warm, balanced and beautifully appointed home.e.

A brief rooted in warmth and connection

Set within a thoughtful architectural envelope, the design centres on creating a home that feels welcoming, calm and deeply connected to its surroundings. BoConcept Interior Designer Yan worked closely with the client to understand how they wanted to live in the space, tailoring each furniture selection to support both the home’s architecture and the family’s lifestyle needs.

The brief emphasised a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, brought to life through a restrained palette of soft neutrals, tactile textiles, natural stone and warm timber accents. These choices allow texture, form and contrast to rise to the forefront, creating an aesthetic that is both understated and richly layered.

Abundant natural light plays a starring role. Large vertical windows and generous ceiling heights draw sunlight deep into the home, enhancing its openness and strengthening visual links to the Australian landscape beyond. This verticality also reveals the true scale of the space, with an upper-level vantage point offering sweeping views across the living area and outwards to the countryside.

Zoned living with purposeful comfort

Despite its open-plan layout, the home is cleverly zoned to create areas of comfort, function and visual cohesion. In the living space, the Salamanca corner sofa anchors the room with soft, enveloping lines, while the Form rug helps delineate the zone without interrupting the spatial flow. Styling elements—including the Flora vase, Paris lamp, Santiago side table, Bermuda footstool and tactile teddy cushions—introduce warmth, materiality and personality.

These pieces work in harmony to reinforce the project’s quietly luxurious tone, ensuring comfort is never achieved at the expense of form.

A harmonious dining and kitchen space

In the adjoining dining area, the Santiago extendable dining table in white ceramic and oak brings an elegant contrast to the home’s natural finishes. Paired with the sculptural Seoul dining chairs and grounded by the Sweet Art rug, the setting strikes a balance between everyday usability and refined design expression. The interplay of ceramic, oak and soft textiles enhances the dialogue with the home’s exposed brick and gentle natural light.

Elevated calm upstairs

Upstairs, a serene retreat unfolds. The Indivi corner sofa in white creates a peaceful lounge space, complemented by the Santiago sideboard in light oak. This pairing reinforces the project’s overarching themes of clarity, restraint and balance—offering the perfect place to unwind while still feeling connected to the architecture below.

The Gledswood Hills project exemplifies a composed, timeless approach to interiors—one grounded in ease, clarity and thoughtfully curated design. The synergy between architecture, material palette and carefully selected BoConcept pieces results in a home that feels both quietly luxurious and effortlessly liveable.

For trade and contract professionals, it serves as a compelling reminder of how subtle zoning, natural materials and considered furniture selection can elevate open-plan environments into spaces that feel both expansive and beautifully intimate.
