Meet the Team: Michel

BoConcept Trade & Contract team in London is the B2B division of the internationally recognised brand delivering furnished solutions across the residential, commercial and hospitality sector. We all know that it’s ‘the people’ that make a team what it is and drive its success. Over the last couple of months, we’ve been giving you a little snapshot into the individuals who make it all happen. Last month we introduced you to Jenna and this month we would like to introduce you to Michel who is our Business and Contracts Director, the man that heads up this fantastic team...

Michel Baumgart – Business & Contracts Director.

Tell us about your journey to becoming the Business and Contracts Director?
My journey with BoConcept started in June 2010, where I first worked on the retail side of the business and eventually rose through the ranks to position of retail area manager. 4 years later I was tasked with setting up the B2B division for BoConcept which was a rather daunting undertaking at first as I had little experience dealing with commercial clients. It took a couple of years to find my feet, but I never looked back and nine years on we have developed the company to not only be a leading furniture brand within the retail sector but also in the B2B.

The VIP lounge for Fulham FC was designed and furnished by BoConcept, one of the projects Michel has found most interesting to work on, being a big football fan himself!

What has been the most interesting project you and your team have worked on so far?
As an ardent football fan, I have to say that that our 3-year sponsorship of Fulham FC was one of the most interesting projects that I have worked on to date. As well as the sponsorship we designed and furnished several lounges at Fulham’s home ground, Craven Cottage, including the players and managers lounges and of course got to see a few games!

What is your favourite product from the BoConcept collection? (and why)
My favourite product would be our iconic Chiva coffee table which has been in the collection for a few years now. It encapsulates what BoConcept sets out to give its customers, which is sleek design that is both practical and functional. I have one at home and I love it!

The Chiva coffee table, Michel’s favourite product, is the perfect combination of sleek design and functionality. Two of the qualities BoConcept prides itself on most.

What is your favourite holiday destination? (and why)
I have been fortunate enough to go to the Caribbean a few times and always a place I would go back to. As a keen sailor and diver there are so many beautiful things to explore both on land and underwater!
