BoConcept's new Paraggi sofa collection
The way we use interiors is changing. Living spaces increasingly need to accommodate different moments throughout the day – from quiet retreat and focused work to entertaining, relaxing and socialising.
For us, this creates an interesting design challenge: how can furniture respond to these changing needs without compromising on aesthetics?
With Paraggi, designed by Italian architect and designer Claudio Bellini, we explore exactly that. The result is a sculptural, high-back sofa collection that brings adaptability and comfort together with a strong architectural presence.
At the heart of Paraggi is a simple idea: furniture should work around people, rather than asking people to adapt around it.
Bellini describes furniture as “a place where you live”, and this thinking is particularly evident in Paraggi. Rather than being designed for a single posture or purpose, the sofa can respond to different moments throughout the day.
Its adjustable arm and backrests allow the configuration to shift between a more open, relaxed position and a more upright, supportive one. The movement is intuitive, allowing the character of the sofa to change without introducing visual complexity.
For residential schemes, this flexibility can make a living space feel more responsive to everyday life. For hospitality, Build-to-Rent and other contract environments, it also presents an opportunity to create spaces that can support different users and different patterns of use.

Adaptability is only part of the story.
Paraggi has been designed to feel enveloping, with a distinctive high back and softly rounded forms that create a sense of privacy and protection. Inspired by the sheltered bay of Paraggi on the Italian coastline, the silhouette takes its cues from the feeling of being surrounded and embraced.
The generous proportions and deep seating create a relaxed, inviting character, while the strong architectural base gives the piece enough presence to anchor a scheme.
This balance is particularly important when specifying statement furniture. A large sofa needs to command a space without making it feel visually heavy. Paraggi achieves this through the contrast between its grounded base and softer, generous volumes – creating something that feels substantial while retaining a sense of lightness.
One of the most considered aspects of Paraggi is the way its functionality has been integrated into the design.
The adjustable arm and backrests are central to the experience, but they don't dominate the aesthetic. Instead, the sofa maintains a clean, sculptural silhouette whether configured for a more open lounging position or a more supportive seating experience.
For interior designers and specifiers, this is an important distinction. Adaptability doesn't need to mean visibly technical furniture. The most successful flexible pieces are often those where the functionality is intuitive and almost disappears into the design.
As Bellini puts it, the aim was not to introduce “heavy mechanisms”, but to achieve flexibility through simplicity.

Paraggi has been conceived as a wider system rather than a single standalone piece.
The collection includes armchairs, 2.5 and 3-seater sofas, chaise configurations, corner sofas, modules and pouffes, allowing the design to be considered across different spatial requirements.
This modular approach is particularly relevant to contract and residential projects where layouts, footprints and functions can vary significantly.
A compact configuration can define a more intimate seating area, while larger corner and chaise arrangements can create a destination within an expansive living or hospitality environment. Individual elements can also help introduce different layers of seating without losing visual cohesion.
The result is a collection that can be specified according to the architecture of the space, rather than forcing the space to accommodate a predetermined furniture format.
For trade and contract projects, flexibility is increasingly about more than simply making a piece modular.
It's about creating interiors that can support different experiences while maintaining a clear design language.
Paraggi offers this through its combination of configuration, comfort, upholstery and proportion. The collection is upholstered in fabric, reinforcing its tactile, residential quality, while the extensive choice of upholstery allows the designer to determine how prominently the piece sits within the wider scheme.
A softer neutral can allow its sculptural form to blend seamlessly into a calm, material-led interior, while a richer tone can make the sofa a more defining element within the space.
The result is a piece that can move comfortably between residential interiors and considered hospitality or contract environments.
