The Atelier 246
Since opening its doors in 2009, TWO ROOMS has been a cultural landmark in Tokyo — a meeting place for refined dining, lively entertainment, and high-profile social gatherings. In 2025, the venue embarked on a major transformation to renew its interiors and elevate its guest experience. Our Tokyo team were chosen as a design partner to guide the process, creating a setting where dining, atmosphere, and performance coexist in harmony.
The challenge lay in designing a hospitality space that could evolve effortlessly throughout the day. By combining aesthetic sensitivity with functional precision, we helped TWO ROOMS reimagine its spaces to support a new rhythm — from relaxed daytime meals to intimate dinners, live jazz performances, and immersive nightlife experiences.
Guidance from start to finish
The team supported the project from concept development through to furniture selection and spatial planning. Each zone was conceived as part of a coherent design narrative, with every piece of furniture selected to enhance its purpose and character.
In Atelier 246, warmth and vibrancy define the atmosphere. Here, Princeton bar stools in rich orange hues sit alongside matching Hamilton chairs, creating a lively yet refined dining environment that complements the venue’s palette of granite, brass, and leather. The combination of textures and tones adds depth to the space, striking a perfect balance between energy and intimacy.

The Vista lounge
The Private Dining Room introduces a more secluded experience. Anchored by a Santiago dining table surrounded by Hamilton chairs, the setting feels both inviting and elevated — a space designed for meaningful connection. The room’s sense of craftsmanship is echoed in the bespoke hat installation by milliner Thom O’Brien, adding a touch of artistry to the intimate atmosphere.
By contrast, the Vista Lounge offers a cooler, more sophisticated tone. Here, Hamilton chairs in earth green bring elegance and poise, while the sculptural Charlotte chairs are perfectly positioned to overlook the Tokyo skyline. Together, they create a setting that feels both luxurious and relaxed — ideal for evening cocktails and late-night conversation.
Design without compromise
Throughout the project, we demonstrated that exceptional design can thrive even within practical constraints. Budget considerations were met with tailored solutions, ensuring the project maintained its creative integrity without compromise. Every design choice — from the material finishes to the positioning of each furniture piece — was made to enhance the flow of the space and the comfort of its guests.
The use of natural materials such as granite and brass provided a tactile connection to the venue’s heritage, while the striking Swamp Kauri bar counter served as a focal point, grounding the design in craftsmanship and authenticity. These layered details reflect our holistic approach: designing not only for visual impact, but for experience, atmosphere, and longevity.

This collaboration exemplifies the power of design to elevate hospitality. Through expertise, problem-solving, and an understanding of how people interact with space, we helped shape an environment that is dynamic, thoughtful, and timeless.
Today, TWO ROOMS continues its legacy as one of Tokyo’s most distinctive destinations — redefined for a new era of social and sensory experiences, where every moment is supported by design without compromise.
