A historic Mexican residence reborn through a seamless fusion of Danish design and local artistry.

Casa Rosa Polanco project featuring the Bolzano sofa, Sweet Art chair and footstool
In the heart of Mexico City’s elegant Polanco district, a new chapter of cultural and design dialogue has unfolded. Once home to Mexican film icon María Félix, Casa Rosa Polanco has been reimagined by architect Germán Velasco, in partnership with our México team and artist Prince Lauder, as an inspiring fusion of Danish minimalism and Mexican artistry.
A meeting of cultures
The collaboration was born from our Sweet Art collection by Danish designer Charlotte Høncke—a series defined by its organic shapes, soft tones, and tactile comfort. Designed to evoke the delicate craft of Danish pastry-making, Sweet Art balances playfulness and sophistication through rounded edges and calming palettes.
For Velasco, this spirit of warmth and simplicity resonated deeply with Mexico’s own design culture.
“Danish design is something we all aspire to—natural materials, simple lines, warmth,” explains Germán Velasco, Director of Velasco Arquitectos. “Although BoConcept is a Danish global brand, it fits perfectly within the mix of Mexican and international furniture. Sweet Art combines beautifully with existing elements—it was a seamless conversation between cultures.”

A canvas for creative expression
As part of the project, artist Prince Lauder was invited to reinterpret one of our most iconic pieces—the Madrid table. Known for his vivid editorial style inspired by fashion, film, and music, Lauder transformed the table’s sleek surface into a vibrant work of art.
“BoConcept challenged me to intervene in one of its classic pieces,” shares Lauder. “I wanted to respect the table’s iconic design while reimagining its surface as a geometric composition inspired by Danish pastry—slices and patterns that allude to the shapes and layers of cake.”
The result is both sculptural and symbolic—a visual metaphor for the project’s central theme: layers of cultural influence brought together through design.
The heart of a creative community
Casa Rosa Polanco itself has become a hub for Mexico’s creative community. Founded by Raúl de la Cerda, the project celebrates collaboration across architecture, art, and design—set within a home rich in personality and history.
“Casa Rosa Polanco is a very special house with a lot of history,” says de la Cerda. “It’s in the heart of Polanco, one of the most important areas of Mexico City, and we wanted it to be a space for the creative community. Having BoConcept as part of this journey—our friend brand—is an honour.”
About the Casa Rosa Polanco project
Through Sweet Art and the Casa Rosa collaboration, we once again demonstrate our ability to transcend geography and style—bringing global design to life in local contexts. The project is a testament to what can be achieved when craftsmanship, creativity, and culture intersect.
At Casa Rosa Polanco, Danish design didn’t just complement Mexican architecture—it became part of a wider cultural conversation, where elegance and modernity meet artistic soul.
