Mariana Marques Da Silva – Interior Designer

What has been your favourite project that you have worked on recently?
Since I joined BoConcept six months ago, I have worked on many different projects, and one of my recent favourites is the 3-bedroom apartment we furnished in Baker Street for Ridgeback Group. The idea for this living/dining room was to create a relaxed and sociable living room environment, featuring our Cenova sofa. The bold, dusty red sofa, tactile fabrics, textures, smooth shapes, and earthy tones create a warm and contemporary feeling. The use of large abstract art and bold decorative objects creates an uplifting feel, which enriches the space.

What is your best kept design secret?
I have many, but one of my favourites is art. Don’t underestimate the effect of art on brightening up your space, whether it is a painting, sculpture, or even a photograph. Select pieces that express personality and can be a focal point in the room. These can bring energy and create depth; do not be afraid to go big! A large piece of art can make a small space look and feel bigger. And to finish, use the colours within the artwork to tie the room together in a balanced and harmonious way.

What is your favourite product from the BoConcept collection?
My favourite product from our collection is the Madrid table in the ceramic finish. With its clean and organic lines, this table is perfect for making a modern statement in any space. The ceramic finish, available in various colours, is a great option to add interest to a space. The Madrid table is at the top of my BoConcept wish list!

What would be your ideal weekend?
An ideal weekend for me would be one spent with my partner doing our favourite things. We love to workout together on Saturday mornings, followed by a walk to one of our favourite brunch spots in our neighbourhood. A good art exhibition in the afternoon and cocktails in the evening would be the cherry on top!
